Prototype 03 - Fog of War

In this third iteration of our prototype, we added a Fog of War, some sound effects, a merchant to get more units, and made the level end when you unlock the hero.

New elements in this version

Enemies will spawn from their camps when you enter their detection range; fight all the waves, and the camp will turn into ashes.

Fighting will earn you some coins, which you can spend with the new Merchant NPC to grow your party. For now only Archer and Warrior can be bought, but it’s enough for us to test the mechanic.

What is a game without sound effects? We wanted to try how well it works in a web build, so we added some sounds to the battle.

Objective: Explore the map, defeat enemy camps to collect money, and get your first hero!

Units automatically attack enemies when in range. Two types: Archer and Warrior.

Keyboard/Mouse/Touchpad controls

Left click over a unit - select unit

Left click + drag - multiple units selection

Right click - move selected units

WASD (or equivalent on your keyboard) or arrows or Swipe with two fingers (on touchpad) - move camera

Touch screen controls

Touch over a unit (when none selected) - select unit

Touch + drag - multiple units selection

Touch - move selected units

Swipe with two fingers - move camera

Gamepad controls

For the gamepad to be enabled you have to press any key first.

Xbox A or Sony Cross or Nintendo B - start game

Left stick - move cursor

Xbox A or Sony Cross or Nintendo B - selection mode

Xbox RT or Sony R2 or Xbox B or Sony Circle or Nintendo A - move selected units

Right stick - move camera
